Ovalle named Player of the Year, Broncos honored by AVCA

New Mexico Military Institute sophomore opposite Marian Ovalle was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Two-Year College National Player of the Year.

In addition, Ovalle also earned AVCA first-team All-America recognition.

Ovalle ranked fifth in the nation in kills (511), fourth in points-per-set average (4.6), and third in points (615), and also had 396 digs, 40 service aces, and 116 total blocks. 

Freshman libero Mio Yamamoto was named to the AVCA second-team All-America list.

Yamamoto grabbed 796 digs, which ranked second-best in the nation. She also averaged 5.85 digs per set while recording 126 assists and 29 service aces.
