Yamamoto named WJCAC Defensive Player of the Week

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference has announced the Volleyball Players of the Week for the week of October 3-9.

Daniela Rodrigues of Odessa College is the WJCAC Offensive Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Libson, Portugal had 32 kills in eight sets played last week, including 15 kills on 27 attempts in her last game played for the week. She also added 18 digs.

New Mexico Military Institute libero Mio Yamamoto is the WJCAC Defensive Player of the Week.

The 5-foot-5 freshman from Japan had 26 digs in six sets played while adding four assists.
