Colt Volleyball opens 2024 season against Loving High

The Lady Colt Volleyball team will open the 2024 season with a home match against Loving High on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 6:30 pm. In total, the Colts will host eight matches at the Godfrey Athletic Center gym.

After losing six seniors from last year’s roster, the Colts return eight of their athletes for the upcoming season. The Colts will rely on their lone senior on the squad, Sara Pires, as the roster will be mostly constructed of sophomores and juniors.

Ending last regular season with a pair of wins and a 10-12 overall record, the Colts finished 3rd in the district with a 2-4 record. After finishing 6-4 at home a season ago, the Colts will have a plethora of games on the road.

On Sept. 6-7, the Colts will compete in a trio of matches at the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Gateway Christian School in Roswell, NM. Ending their road slate with a visit to Tularosa, the Colts will end regular season play with a matchup against Dexter High on Thursday, Nov. 7. at home.

The NMAA Class 3A State Championships will take place Nov. 14-16, with location/times TBD.
