No. 2 Broncos are headed to national football playoffs

Sporting a 10-1 record after capturing the first Southwest Junior College Football Conference title in program history, the New Mexico Military Institute received its highest-ever ranking in the NJCAA Division I poll.

The Broncos finished No. 2 in this season's final poll to earn a qualification for the inaugural NJCAA national championship playoff system.

NMMI will host third-seeded Northwest Mississippi Community College (9-2) at 2 p.m. MST Sunday, Dec. 5 at the Wool Bowl in Roswell.

General admission is $15 and tickets can be purchased at www.njcaa.org/tickets. Children two and under get in free.

The game will be livestreamed through www.njcaa.org/network. An $15 fee is required to view the game online.

In the other semifinal, No. 1 Iowa Western (9-0) takes on No. 4 Snow College (7-1) in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Dec. 4.

The four teams are vying for a spot in the NJCAA Division I national championship on Friday, Dec. 17 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Ark.
