In the top of the ninth, Noah Martinez was able to hold Tularosa to just one hit and secure the 11-8 win at home.

Head Coach Brad Blackwell on the win, “I’m really proud of these guys going down not once but twice and still finding a way. If we would’ve played this game earlier in the year it could’ve had a different result but I’ve been seeing us come together as a team and handle adversity well,” Blackwell said. “It’s always a rival with Ruidoso but if we keep playing the ball we have been we should be fine.” We just have to take care of one game at a time and gear up for state, Blackwell said.

NMMI returns to action on Saturday, May 3 as they take on Ruidoso for the final regular season doubleheader of the year in Ruidoso, NM starting at noon.
