Drew Thatcher came to NMMI in 2012 as the wide receivers coach for Bronco football. In 2013, he took over as offensive coordinator and in 2015 was promoted to assistant head coach along with his duties as the offensive coordinator.
The Truth or Consequences native has also run the NMMI 7-on-7 summer football camp and coordinated the video for the team since 2012.
Thatcher was with the Broncos when they won the El Toro Bowl in 2013, the first NMMI bowl victory since 1999.
He is a graduate of New Mexico State University, where he received a bachelor’s in kinesiology and a masters in curriculum and instruction. He was also a graduate assistant, working with the offense at NMSU from 2009-2011.
He was a wide receiver for the Aggies from 2004-2008.
